    Apprentice Site Manager - Beaconsfield

    Apprentice Site Manager

    Location: Beaconsfield/Ascot
Apprenticeship: Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor

At Shanly Homes, we do not just build houses; we create distinctive, high-specification homes designed for modern living.

As a privately owned, multi award-winning regional housebuilder, we take pride in delivering thoughtfully designed developments in some of the South East’s most sought-after locations.

We are looking for an Apprentice Site Manager to join our Build team and begin a long-term career in residential construction.

This is an opportunity to earn while you learn, combining hands-on experience on live residential developments with formal apprenticeship training. You will work alongside experienced Site Managers and the wider Build team, developing the knowledge, skills and practical experience needed to progress towards an Assistant Site Manager role.

You do not need previous experience managing construction sites. We are looking for someone with the attitude, commitment and potential to develop into a future site leader.

    The opportunity

As an Apprentice Site Manager, you will gain practical experience across the construction process while completing a Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor apprenticeship, leading to eligibility for a CSCS card.

Working under the guidance of an experienced Site Manager, you will gradually take on more responsibility as your knowledge and competence develop.

Your training and development will give you exposure to:

    • The day-to-day management and organisation of a residential construction site
    • Construction methods, materials and the sequence of building high-quality homes
    • Health and safety, including risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
    • Reading construction drawings, specifications and technical information
    • Building Regulations, NHBC requirements and construction standards
    • Quality control, inspections and defect management
    • Planning, programming and monitoring construction progress
    • Coordinating subcontractors, labour, materials and site resources
    • Site logistics, deliveries, waste management and housekeeping
    • Commercial awareness, cost control and efficient use of resources
    • Working closely with the Sales team and understanding the customer journey
    • Customer viewings, Home Demonstrations and Handovers
    • Site administration, reporting and communication

You will also undertake formal apprenticeship training as part of the programme, for one day a week over the course of a 15-18 month period, with your development supported by Shanly Homes and the apprenticeship training provider.

    Learning and progression

We want this to be the beginning of a career, not simply a training programme.

You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship with structured development, regular progress reviews and increasing responsibility as you demonstrate your knowledge, skills and competence.

The aim is to develop you towards an Assistant Site Manager role, with the longer-term opportunity to progress within site management at Shanly Homes.

Your development will combine formal learning with the practical experience of working on our developments, allowing you to put your learning into practice from day one.

    About you

This role is designed for someone at the beginning of their career in construction, so previous experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager is not required.

We are more interested in your potential, attitude and willingness to learn than whether you already have extensive construction experience.

    You will ideally have:

    • A genuine interest in construction and housebuilding
    • A strong willingness to learn and develop
    • Good organisation and the ability to plan and prioritise
    • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with different people
    • Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
    • A practical approach to problem-solving
    • The ability to listen, learn from feedback and ask questions
    • Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude
    • A strong awareness of the importance of health and safety
    • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Previous experience in construction, building, engineering, trades or another practical environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.

You will have English and Maths GCSE grades at 4/C  to meet the entry requirements of the Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor apprenticeship and be committed to completing the required training and qualification.

    Why Shanly Homes?

At Shanly Homes, you will learn within a business where quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail are at the heart of what we do.

You will work alongside experienced construction professionals and gain genuine exposure to the full residential build process, from construction and quality through to completion and customer handover.

As a privately owned business, we are able to take a long-term approach to developing our people and creating opportunities for progression.

If you are looking to build a career in construction and want the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while gaining a recognised qualification, we would like to hear from you.
