We are now looking for a Build Inspector to ensure our homes are finished to our high standards before they’re handed over to customers. This is a hands-on, precision-driven role where your ability to spot the smallest snag will help shape the impression our buyers have of their new home. You will play a key role in representing the Shanly way.
About the role
You will be working closely with our Construction Director and site teams to carry out detailed inspections at every stage of the build programme. You will play a hands-on role in influencing the quality at every stage, from pre-construction to handover, ensuring our homes meet internal standards and NHBC requirements. You’ll also continue to raise our standards across the business by sharing insights with senior leadership and driving continuous improvement on every project.
Your responsibilities will include
- Conducting regular site visits to assess build progress and quality, with a strong focus on internal finishes and customer-ready presentation

Carrying out thorough snag inspections before handover to customers, producing clear and accurate reports

Support the site management team on mitigating recurring quality issues, ensuring best practice is followed and identify remedial works

Keeping up to date with NHBC requirements, build quality best practice, and industry standards
About you

Proven experience working for a residential housebuilder

Demonstrable understanding and application of health and safety best practice and legislation

Meticulous eye for detail

Comprehensive knowledge of new build warranty standards and regulations, with proven application in quality inspections

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
