    Senior Technical Manager - Beaconsfield

    Location: Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire

At Shanly Homes, we create thoughtfully designed, high-quality homes in some of the South East’s most desirable locations.

As a privately owned, multi award-winning regional housebuilder, we are known for delivering distinctive residential developments where design, detail, and craftsmanship are central. Everything we do is underpinned by our values: Excellence by design, Stability, Constant improvement, Action, and Together.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Manager to join our Technical team and take a leading role in delivering high-quality residential developments from planning through to completion. Working closely with the Technical Director, you will lead key projects across the department and play a central role in driving technical delivery.

This is a highly autonomous position suited to a driven, ambitious individual who takes ownership, leads from the front, and maintains momentum across multiple projects without close direction. You will be trusted to operate independently, ensuring technical excellence, coordination, and buildability are consistently achieved.

You will be part of a collaborative, design-led business where technical quality and attention to detail are fundamental to every scheme delivered.

    What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Head of Technical, you will manage all technical aspects of multiple residential developments, working closely with Build, Commercial, and Sales teams to ensure coordinated and efficient delivery.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Leading the appointment and management of consultants, ensuring all drawings, reports, and technical information are delivered to programme and required quality standards
    • Coordinating design information through planning, design freeze, and construction stages, identifying and resolving discrepancies early
    • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and consultant proposals to ensure buildability, practicality, and cost efficiency, including value engineering opportunities
    • Managing planning condition discharges and securing approvals for specialist designs and technical submissions
    • Overseeing utilities coordination, including applications, capacity assessments, diversions, and disconnections
    • Supporting and updating technical specifications in collaboration with Sales and Commercial teams
    • Resolving technical and construction issues with site teams, consultants, and stakeholders, including site visits where required
    • Preparing technical reports and contributing to project review meetings
    • Managing Building Regulations approvals, NHBC registrations, and associated compliance requirements
    • Coordinating CDM duties, including pre-construction information, F10 notifications, and Health & Safety documentation
    • Producing O&M manuals and Health & Safety Files for handover
    • Managing Section 38, 104, and 278 agreements and other statutory technical obligations
    • Monitoring technical budgets, consultant claims, and project costs
    • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of building regulations, legislation, and industry best practice

    What you’ll bring

We are a design-led housebuilder with a strong focus on quality and detail. You will be confident operating at a senior technical level across multiple live projects.

    • Proven experience in a Senior Technical Manager or similar role within residential development
    • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and relevant construction legislation
    • Strong understanding of residential construction detailing and buildability
    • Experience managing consultants across multiple disciplines
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate and implement practical solutions
    • Confident reviewing and improving technical drawings and specifications
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Clear and confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders
    • Proficient in CAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel

    What we offer

    • Competitive salary and car allowance
    • Discretionary annual and long-term bonus scheme up to 15%
    • Enhanced pension scheme (salary sacrifice)
    • Private medical cover (BUPA)
